Possibly one of the greatest ideas ever to come out of Facebook… Have TV icon Betty White host Saturday Night Live. A campaign was started on Facebook shortly after the Super Bowl, mainly due to White’s hilarious Snickers commercial.  A total of nearly 188,000 people have joined this petition (including me). Betty White is one of the truly great funny ladies in all of TV history, and her commercial last week proves that even at age 88, she can still bring the funny. For SNL, it would be a smart move.  This campaign’s getting great press (just went up as an official AP story) and SNL’s content this year has been consistently bland to downright terrible.  Having White host would gin up talk for the show and might just produce some actual comic material. Reps for both Betty White and SNL refused to comment on the story, which leads me to believe that this is going to happen.  And I, for one, can’t wait.
