Perhaps viewership is dropping like a hail stone, as the Weather Channel has decided that the one thing a network (previously devoted to telling us if it was going to rain tomorrow) was missing was….movies.

Yyyyeah, so beginnning Oct. 30, they’ll start airing “weather-themed” flicks.

Their first offering?  Why, “The Perfect Storm”, naturally!

Other films they’ll show include “Deep Blue Sea” (a shark movie?), and “Misery” (not weather related unless you count the main protagonist is knocked off the road in a blizzard).

But, don’t worry…weather lovers!  TWC will still put the temperature and forecast up 6 times an hour.

Undoubtedly, the politically biased network will make global warming harbingers “The Day After Tomorrow” and Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” their flagship motion pictures.  Hey, Weather Channel, why not some sitcoms based on those?  Sounds like a winner…..yeesh.

Looks like they’ll become to weather news what MTV became for music videos.
