CNet is reporting that the Wii’s price will be dropped $50 down to $199 beginning this weekend.
And the console price war continues. The PS3 tried to be all clever and dropped their price to $299. XBOX had dropped its Elite down to $299 (though now with a $50 rebate) and core system to $199, and now this for the Wii.
Looks like the PS3 is once again bringing up the rear….
Keep in mind that all three companies lose money on their consoles (I mean, a LOT of money). They recoup this and try to make a profit with their games. And PS3’s library is suffering…horribly.
