Entertainment Weekly is reporting that several shows will broadcast reruns in the next few weeks.
Incredible, right? I mean, that’s never happened before…
Well, all right, there is a slightly new wrinkle.
Stars of some of Fox’s primetime shows will Tweet comments on episodes live during the broadcast. Josh Jackson and John Noble will Tweet this Thursday on an episode of “Fringe”.
This is a cool idea. Tweets will appear on screen beneath the episode and should feature not only insights to the episode and its creation, but an interesting look at the actors and characters they play.
Obviously, Fox is trying this out on a rerun with the intention of eventually having a first run episode Tweeted by its stars. Imagine, you sit down to watch the season finale of “Fringe”, tweeted live by the stars, directors, or writers.
I’m a HUGE fan of cast/creative commentaries to films/TV shows. I’m currently rewatching “Superman II: The Donner Cut” with Richard Donner’s commentary. It’s a very frank and riveting account of what happened. And the Tweet-peat becoming an everyday staple with TV shows is a definite cool thing.
